Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 23 October 2026

These terms explain what you get when you buy a Ramble tag or use ramble.pet, and what we expect from you. We've kept them as plain as we can. Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a UK consumer.

1. Who we are

Ramble ("we", "us") is run by [Your full name], trading as Ramble, [Postal address]. You can reach us at hello@ramble.pet.

These terms apply to anyone who buys from us, sets up a tag, has a Ramble account, or uses ramble.pet (including people who scan a tag after finding a pet).

2. What Ramble is, and isn't

Ramble sells QR tags for pets. When someone scans a tag with their phone, they see the pet's page and can contact the owner in the ways the owner has chosen.

  • Ramble is not a GPS tracker. The tag has no battery or chip. It only helps when a person finds your pet and scans it.
  • A finder's location is only shared if they choose to share it.
  • Ramble does not replace a microchip, or the ID tag with your name and address that UK law requires dogs to wear in public.
  • We can't promise your pet will be found, or that a finder will scan the tag.

3. Your account

You need to be 18 or over to buy from us or have an account. You log in with a code we email you, so keep access to your email account secure.

Please keep your details accurate, especially your email address, because that's where messages and locations from finders go.

You're responsible for the information you put on your pet's page. Only add other people (like alert contacts) if they're happy to be added.

4. Buying tags

  • 1 tag £14.99, 2 tags £24.99, 3 tags £34.99, 4 tags £42.99, 5 tags £49.99, then £10 for each extra tag, up to 10 per order. Prices include VAT where it applies.
  • Delivery is free to UK addresses only, usually by Royal Mail in 2 to 3 working days after we post your order.
  • Discount codes are only valid while they're active, can't be swapped for cash and can't be used after an order is placed.

Your order is accepted, and our contract starts, when we email you an order confirmation. If something goes wrong (for example we can't deliver to your address, or there's an obvious pricing mistake), we'll tell you and refund anything you've paid.

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

5. Setting up and using your tag

Each tag has a unique code. To set it up you'll need the 6-digit code we email to the address used at checkout, so nobody else can claim it.

Ramble Free is included with every tag at no extra cost, for as long as Ramble runs: a pet profile with a profile photo, unlimited scans, finders can send you their location and messages by email, an optional Call button, 1 alert contact and a missing banner.

If a tag is lost or you give your pet a new home, switch the tag off or move it to another pet in your dashboard.

6. Ramble Premium (optional)

Premium costs £3.99 a month or £34.99 a year and covers up to 5 pets. It adds email alerts on every scan, up to 5 alert contacts, a photo gallery, lost-pet posters, health records, scan history with a map, extra addresses and one free replacement tag every 3 months (not during a free trial, fair use applies).

  • Premium is never switched on automatically, and no card is taken when you set up a tag.
  • It renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. We'll email you 7 days before a yearly renewal.
  • The 30-day free trial is optional and available once per account. We'll email you before it ends. Cancel before it ends and you won't be charged.
  • Cancel any time in Settings, Plan & billing. Premium stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, then your account moves to Ramble Free. Your tags keep working.
  • If a payment fails, we'll email you and Stripe will retry. If it can't be taken, Premium ends and your account moves to Ramble Free.
  • If we ever change the Premium price, we'll email you at least 30 days before, and you can cancel before it applies.

7. Your right to cancel

Tags: you can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order for a full refund. Email us, then post the tags back within 14 days. Please send them unused (not set up). If a tag has been set up, we may reduce the refund to reflect that it has been used.

Premium: if you cancel within 14 days of first paying for Premium, we'll refund that payment in full. After that, cancelling stops future payments.

Refunds go back to the card or payment method you used, within 14 days of us agreeing the refund.

8. If something's wrong with your tag

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If your tag is faulty, tell us. Within 30 days of delivery you can ask for a full refund; after that we'll repair, replace or refund it as the law requires.

Normal wear and tear, chewing, or damage from misuse isn't a fault. Premium members can ask for a free replacement every 3 months, and anyone can buy a new tag in the shop.

9. Finders and fair use

If you've found a pet: thank you. Please only use the tag's page to help the pet get home.

Nobody may use Ramble to:

  • send abusive, threatening, false or spam messages, or pretend to have found a pet they haven't
  • try to find out an owner's details they haven't chosen to show
  • access accounts or tags that aren't theirs, guess tag codes, or overload or attack the site
  • copy (scrape) the site or its content, or use it for anything unlawful

We can block messages, switch off tags, or suspend accounts that break these rules.

10. The service

We work hard to keep ramble.pet running and messages flowing, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, or that every email will arrive (spam filters and full inboxes happen). Keep your contact details up to date and check your spam folder.

We may improve or change features. We won't take away the core of Ramble Free (a finder can always reach you through your tag) while Ramble runs. If Ramble ever had to close, we'd give you at least 90 days' notice by email.

11. Our responsibility to you

We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses.

Ramble helps people reunite with lost pets, but we're not responsible for what happens to a pet, or for the actions of finders or other people.

We can't promise that a lost pet will be found, that a tag will be scanned, or that a finder will get in touch. A Ramble tag adds to, but doesn't replace, a microchip and the ID tag with your name and address that the law requires for dogs in public.

Ramble relies on phones, mobile signal, the internet and email, which we don't control. We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by them, or by anything else outside our reasonable control.

Check your tag and its ring every so often and replace it if it's worn or damaged. We're not responsible for a tag that's lost, damaged or can't be scanned because of wear, misuse or changes you make to it.

As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights.

12. Ending your account

You can delete your account any time in Settings, Privacy & data. This switches off your tags and removes your pets' pages. It can't be undone.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where it's fair to, we'll warn you first.

13. Our content

The Ramble name, logo, designs, text and site belong to us. You may use the site for your own personal use. The photos and details you add stay yours; you let us show them on your pet's page and in your account so the service works.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. If a change matters, we'll email you before it applies. The date at the top shows when they last changed.

15. Law and complaints

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

If you're unhappy, email hello@ramble.pet and a real person will reply, usually within one working day. We'll always try to put things right.

How we look after your information is in our Privacy Policy.
